USA and Canada citizens living in Norway — this is the traffic school you need in Oslo to exchange your North American driver’s license. When I moved here, I called around to all the schools, and this was the only one that offered both help in English as well as support for the full Class B (manual transmission) license. They guided me through the entire process and made everything as painless as possible. Driving in Norway is very different from North America, and this school helps you adjust quickly. You’ll learn to handle new requirements such as the yield-to-the-right “vikeplikt” rule, understand priority roads, navigate endless multi-lane roundabouts, share the road safely with trams and busses, and master eco-friendly driving — which is not only encouraged but required on the exam. The instructors make sure you feel confident with these differences so the test — and everyday driving — feels natural. If you go, I highly recommend asking for Dag Halvard Kristiansen. He’s patient, clear in English, and excellent at explaining the specific habits you’ll need to pass the exam and feel safe on Norwegian roads. My personal recommendation is to book at least 10 sessions with an instructor like Dag so you don’t run into problems with the exam. You can practice both around the test area and in your own neighborhood. Remember — you only get two attempts to exchange your license, and after that you’ll be treated like a brand-new beginner, which means going through all the mandatory safety courses. And most importantly, don’t forget that you can’t use your North American license after three months of living here - after that it's illegal. When it comes time for the exam, don’t forget to bring your passport. Take it slow and keep your eyes well ahead — you won’t be punished for driving a little under the speed limit. Norwegian driving isn’t the start-stop style you might be used to in North America: there are very few stop signs, and not nearly as many intersections with traffic lights. Lykke til!

I just passed the test on the first try, so highly recommended. And many thanks to my instructor Lennette for being so patient with me. She is a little strict but in a good way as she always aims to help the students to pass on the first attempt to the test.

Had Lennette as my driving instructor. helped fix bad habits and feel secure driving in Norway and ultimately my drivers license here. A good mix of professional and casual. Comfortable yet imparting good pointers. The mandatory courses were also lead by a bunch of nice, positive instructors who felt like they care. All in all, clean reliable cars, good people, good school, great instructor.
